One kilometer from the Zorn Museum, beautifully situated on the shore of Lake Siljan, lies Zorn’s Gammelgård (Zorn’s old farm), established by Anders Zorn himself. This spectacular open-air museum boasts Sweden’s finest collection of historical timber houses, including the country’s oldest, dating from 1237. Visitors can enter the historical houses, cabins and lofts and imagine how people in the region of Dalarna lived in the past a way of life that connected back to the Viking era!
At the Textilkammaren (textile museum) beautiful folk textiles and costumes from Emma and Anders Zorn’s collections are on display, along with examples of braiding, hair jewelry and clothing, used for both everyday as well as formal occasions.
